fdsdfrhaShe stood in the shadow of the house and exhaled, watching the smoke from her cigarette curl away and disappear into the heavy night sky. Praying to the emptiness, she leaned back and listened in silent repose for a response. The wind whispered through the ageing trees "hush hush" and in her ear the silence responded in kind. The moon hid its' face, the light buried itself deep below the far horizon and all about the darkness crept, threatening to overcome all who stood in its' path.
